We're often asked what’s the difference between nannies and babysitters. Although we use the same screening process for both, the IRS defines nannies as family employees, while babysitters are independent contractors. Whether you wish to hire a nanny or a local babysitter, we can help. Please take a few minutes to learn more about each option.

BABYSITTERS

Babysitters are hired by the hour, for a minimum of 4 hours; the rate will depend on the number of children. Click here to learn more about our babysitting services rates. The sitter will come to your location and remain on the property; they do not transport children in their vehicles. Our sitters will follow any special instructions you provide, and we do attempt to provide the same sitter as often as possible.

Our sitters range in age from college students to grandmothers. We try to match them to your specific needs and requests. After setting up a date and time for your childcare services, we will call you together with your sitter's name and information.

Temporary Nannies

Temporary Nannies work much the same as full-time Nannies except for a shorter period. Temporary Nannies give the family stability with the option of renewing as needed. If you don't need help for a full year this is a perfect option for you. All Temporary Nannies are prescreened just like our Babysitters and full time Nannies. This includes a Nanny Application, phone and personal interviews, background and reference checks.

NANNIES

Nannies are hired employees of the family and work with an initial 1-year agreement. Your nanny will meet your family's specific needs & is responsible for the child's full care & feeding. Heavy housework is usually not included but may include your child's laundry, keeping their areas straight, and meal preparation.

Nannies may be paid a salary or hourly wage. You will be responsible for the employer's share of her taxes and Social Security. While the job description may vary, nannies expect to work full-time hours and often look for benefits such as health insurance and paid vacation time. Benefits vary with each family.

All requirements will be discussed in detail once we've received your family application. A representative will meet with you to discuss job details and your particular requirements. Our nanny placement fee is $2600. Half the fee is due to begin the search and is non-refundable. The full balance is due by the nanny's start date.

We will send you as many applicants as we can who meet your qualifications. You review the applications, interview the candidates, and decide whom to hire. When an offer is made and accepted, we will forward their references, background check, and a placement agreement detailing the specifics of the job. There is a 30-day guarantee on the placement.
